Just opened on Etsy!cutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.comBlogger46125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-82010218530672293772011-04-22T14:34:00.000-07:002011-04-22T14:46:37.320-07:00Spring Into Easter!Happy Spring(if it ever gets here) and I hope you all have a Wonderful Easter Sunday!

It's been quite awhile since I've blogged, and I hope you missed me? LOL! It's been a hectic and trying year, and I hope 2011 is going to be a lot better!
With Nevada being #1 in the nation for unemployment, it's no surprise that my hubby hasn't had a job in a year! I'm doing my best to keep up and sell my creative wares online!

As you know, my main store of Cutethings6 is on Etsy, and I have just recently opened a new store(strictly for Vintage) also on Etsy! Is is called Seasonsintime(Seasons In Time). Here is the link if you'd like to check it out!
http://www.seasonsintime.etsy.com

I am posting a few items that I have there so you can see what it's all about!

Now returning to Cutethings6, I am coming out with a new line for my "Newtiques" collection. Are you ready? It is called "Midnight Mania"
Consisting of upcycled, repurposed Vintage items blended with newer components........ALL IN BLACK!!
There will be black/black, black/white, black/gold, black/silver........well you get the picture!

I'll be sure to post as soon as my 1st number is completed!

On the home front: I've got my seeds planted in my kitchen window, a few already outside that I have to keep an eye on. You never know here in Reno about the weather. A couple weeks ago I was weeding outside and got sunburned, 2 days later we had a snowstorm!!! Go figure!

Well I hope that spring gets here soon, I'm tired of being cooped up, what about you?
Ta Ta for now,
Have a great Easter, and don't eat too much!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-10153669990180839382010-08-09T19:05:00.000-07:002010-08-09T19:13:45.462-07:00Well you probably think that I fell off the face of the earth........not quite! It's my computer. Thought it was the cord, since it seemed to overheat so much and shut down every couple of minutes. And it didn't shut down when I ran on the battery alone? So I sprang for a brand new cord...and wow are they expensive!

Well it helped somewhat, but didn't solve the problem entirely. Then I was unable to access the Internet, so I couldn't DO anything!!! It's been a real nightmare I tell you.
I think it's finally fixed(well at least it's functional)I think LOL!

My hubby is still out of work and can't get hired, and I'm still plugging away with my shoppes on Etsy, Bonanzle, Artfire and Ebay. Hopefully I'll be able to stay online a lot longer now.

I hope everyone is having a great summer? I am, working on my latest masterpiece! I spent the last couple of months ripping up ALL the sod around our house. Now I'm loading up rocks and boulders from the top of the mountains here and making my entire yard a "rock garden"! And it's looking greeeeattttt!!! Can't wait to show you okay?

Well I just wanted you all to know that I haven't forgotten about my blog, and hopefully will be able to get back into again, and be more organized with writing here!

I've got to go and check my dinner: Rosemary chicken, baby red mashed potatoes, corn, and a dinner salad.
Have a great night all!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-71964233486369534552010-06-14T14:48:00.000-07:002010-06-14T14:51:37.142-07:00Happy Summer!Okay I know I've been neglecting you all and I am soooooooo sorry! Had a wonderful time on my vacation (to Vegas) but since I returned, my pc has been overheating terribly and shutting down intermittently so I've hardly been able to accomplish anything.
If I write something lengthy, it will shut down and I will lose it. Suffice to say, this is short and sweet, but I will check back as pc permits!!

Have a great week everyone!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-29629967753478376252010-05-26T15:35:00.001-07:002010-05-26T15:44:26.708-07:00Long Time Coming!Well folks, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back on here to post. It's been rather depressing around here, and not really a lot to say.
My husband lost his job right at my last post, and it has been quite the struggle! I even started a "MY HUSBAND LOST HIS JOB SALE" in my Etsy Shoppe hoping that would drum up some business!
Well I've had one custom order, that I'm still looking for the components to put it together(hopefully I can) and one purchase using the SALE!
The sale ends tomorrow.

I just got through trying to make up a resume for Mac, then I have to cut his hair tonight. He is on lists and calls in to these agencies every morning, but to no avail as of yet.

I have still been plugging away trying to make more things, but if they are NOT selling, than is there really a point?
Well I just had to vent to you all, hope you don't mind?

But if things don't pick up soon, I will be forced to close down Cutethings6 and go to work for someone else!

On a lighter note, I'm leaving for Las Vegas this weekend for 4 days. This is my annual Christmas present, bought and paid for by my daughter and son in law!
Perhaps it will cheer me up!

I'll try to be back sooner this time,
Take care and have a great weekend!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-29406509730294244212010-05-13T15:38:00.000-07:002010-05-13T15:54:28.376-07:00Contest Winner! And the WINNER Was........(drum roll please)...... Debby Polis Carter! Debby entered off of my facebook fanpage at:
http://www.facebook.com/cutethings6

Congratulations to Debby! She's already been shopping to use her $20.00 gift certificate.
Just want to say "thank you" to everyone who entered, who posted here, facebook and etsy!
The MORE people I can get to enter, the MORE contests I will have!! Sound good??

The next one I'm going to start shortly, is a sort of search game. I will be giving a couple key words to an item in the shoppe-it will most likely be included in the title. For instance, I say the word "RED" and you find this listing "Rose Bouquet-Red and silver flowered fashion ring" You post that title, and if that is the correct listing, you WIN that item! **First person with correct title wins**
So what do ya think?

Well I may have told you about the Bridal order I've been working on. 11 Rings for the bridesmaids, jr bridesmaid and flower girl. They are in the "Cha Cha" design and were all made to match each other and earrings! Gorgeous colors of smokey bronze, topaz and champagne on silver plated bases. I hope they are a big hit! Took some major concentration to get them all the same. The tiny one is for a 3yr old flower girl, soooooo cute. I would love to get pictures of them all in their matching jewelry, wouldn't that be fun? I'm posting pictures of my finished products.

Well I have another Bridal order of 6 rings this time. I better get busy. This order is also for the "Cha Cha" rings, but all in black, white and clear! Should be cool!

Talk to you soon, and thank you everyone for being fans and customers! You truly make it all worthwhile!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-47523385415441228102010-05-09T00:10:00.000-07:002010-05-09T00:15:51.549-07:00HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms out there! Had a few people that took my up on the sale, so that was great! This was the first time that I did this kind of sale.. I usually have percent discounts for sales, and this time decided to try it.
Now for my next contest, I am going to be giving away a gift certificate for the prize! I just hope that I get more entries this time around.
I think there were about a dozen on the last giveaway. So PLEASE come on over and enter! It's always more fun when there are more people involved!

Well we are still having nice weather(shhhhh, I shouldn't say it too loud)! I mean it IS May, but considering we had snow last week you just never know around here.
I've worked on a few more designs with the "Moonglow Thermoset", rings that is. My next attempt will be some sort of altered type pendant/necklace. Now that will be fun to do!
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE making my rings, but sometimes I just need to switch it up a bit and try my hand at something new-different-and exciting!!

I'll be sure to post the latest rings here, and also I've designed some necklaces and bracelets I would like you to see. And please give me your HONEST opinion, I would love to hear them.

Not much else is new here, so I will be heading back to work. It's getting close to midnight here so I better get busy!

Take care friends,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-10530703695416493312010-04-26T22:00:00.000-07:002010-04-26T22:26:06.485-07:00Monday Again!Well it's the start of another week, and I hope the nice weather is finally here to stay. I can't wait to get outside and start cleaning up the yard and patio. It looks so messy after the spring thaw, with weeds popping up all over, dead leaves and whatever else has blown in from the strong desert winds here in Reno.

On the work front, I had my first giveaway last week, ending this past Sunday. "April Ring Giveaway"(you entered by listing the name of your favorite ring). I had entries on Facebook and Etsy! And the winner was "Martha Rohrke Jeffery" Congrats Martha for winning your favorite ring!

Currently I am having an Etsy ring sale. B2G1--Buy 2 get 1 free! You can read the details in the announcement section of my store page at:
http://www.cutethings6.etsy.com

Stop by and say hi sometime! Would love to see you all!

Well it's time to get back to listing. I'll be sure to post a couple of new pics for you to see. And I've also posted a widget from "Bonanzle" another new venture of mine where I also have a shoppe/booth.

Take care all,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-70088841015616780782010-04-22T15:22:00.001-07:002010-04-22T15:31:34.775-07:00Dark & Gloomy Thursday!OHHHHHHHHHH the weather is so nasty here I cannot believe it! We had those gorgeous 80 degree days, 2 of them in fact, then it turned to snow... and has been rainy and slushy ever since.
Of course my fibromyalgia is out of control, and I can't stop sleeping(it's so dark out), other than that it's great LOLOL!

Well I have been busy though, working on rings! I just posted pics of a couple that I just listed, one being another Thermoset. I've sold a few of those already, so apparently, my customers like the stuff as much as I!
I have created several necklaces and bracelets as well, and will be showing those real soon.

So did I tell you I'm going to Vegas again? Yup! It's an annual tradition that my daughter Sara and son in law Rob buy me a trip to LV to vacation with them there. This is my Birthday/Christmas present from them. Isn't that wonderful? Such great kids! But this year, this is already the second time they've given me a trip.
Unfortunately, the last one wasn't as festive as usual, since I had just gotten back (4 DAYS BEFORE) from my mom's funeral and arrangements. That was in January, this one the end of May.
I'm looking forward to the heat, A LOT!

Please be sure to enter my contest if you haven't already! Any questions, you can always post here, or email me at: cutethings@sbcglobal.net

Signing off for now, gotta get to work and list, list, list!

Have a great day,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-23069913060059161592010-04-20T10:53:00.000-07:002010-04-20T11:11:22.457-07:00Stormy Tuesday!Well hey folks!
How's everyone today, and what have you been up to? Sorry I haven't written in awhile, but it's on my list of "things to keep up with"! Really, I promise!
On the home front, we had 2 days of absolutely gorgeous weather, 80 degrees! Lovin it! Had the doors and windows open, so nice to finally get some fresh clean air in the house after being cooped up all winter.
And NOWWWWWWWWWWW a winter storm is coming! Yup! Woke me up out of a sound sleep this morning(well the fibromyalgia pain did) and have been on ice packs ever since, and it's not even here yet! Can you believe it? We're supposed to get a snowstorm!
Oyyyyyyyyy, we really need to move south.
Have I mentioned that before?? LOL

So on the work front, I am having my first contest! So PLEASE PLEASE enter, so it will be more fun to have more names to pick from okay?
It's been posted on my Facebook Fanpage, but for those of you who don't use Facebook, you can leave a comment here with your entry. Here's how it goes:

April Giveaway! From 4-18-10 to 4-25-10
#1 Go to my etsy store at http://www.cutethings6.etsy.com
#2 Pick out your favorite ring(there are categories for rings on the right hand side)
Write down your choice.
#3 If not using Facebook, then come back here to http://www.cutethings6.blogspot.com and post the name of your ring choice in the comment section.

That's it! It should be fun!

I've also been working on more Thermoset rings, so I will be posting pics of them for you to see. They are so much fun to make!

Well guess what? Here comes the snow! yukkkkkkkkkk!
I'm going to go and "ice up" my neck again, but I will be back later.
Have a great day all!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-70736517366506805272010-04-04T19:33:00.000-07:002010-04-04T19:46:06.008-07:00Easter Sunday!♥♥♥♥♥♥ HAPPY EASTER ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to everyone! I hope that you're having a great day! Well I've got a ham in the oven, (covered in pineapple and cloves), baked carrots, mashed potatoes, and I'm making a glaze right now with brown sugar, soy sauce, mustard, pineapple, and ham drippings.

Can't wait to eat, it's going to be a late one though. We were up watching movies until 5am, so consequently didn't get up till mid afternoon! But that's okay, if we eat late, we'll be UP late again. Just a different schedule that's all.

So now to the workfront. I am so excited about some of the new creations I am working on. Do you remember the jewelry from the 50's, with the pieces of moonglow(thermoset)? I think a lot of the jewelry was produced by Coro, Lisner, etc. Anyway I found a wonderful seller, who JUST happens to have a supply of these beautiful thermoset pieces that are Vintage but have never been formed into any jewelry as of yet! So here I am!

I am starting with some rings, and will eventually be doing earrings, bracelets and necklaces. I have just ordered another large supply from her, so I'll be pretty busy after it comes!
You really need to check her out. Her name is Karen, and her shops are:
http://www.ladykjewels.artfire.com
http://www.ladykjewels.etsy.com

I actually found Karen while on Artfire, funny too, cause I'm on Etsy a lot more! She has tons of great items, especially Vintage! Findings, cabochons, beads etc. Please stop in and say hi to her!

Well I'm going to post a couple of pics of these new items. Let me know what you think?
Back to my ham now,
And continue having a great holiday!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-64678972424275086842010-03-27T03:47:00.000-07:002010-03-27T03:58:18.406-07:00Yes I do still exist!Well yes I know it has been ages since I have written! It has been SOOOO hectic with so much to do around here that I don't know which way is up! LOL! I've been continually working on rearranging, re-doing, re-cycling, organizing and what not in my studio. I know it will be better in the long run and help me to be more efficient, but WILL I EVER GET IT DONE???

I think I just MAY see the light at the end of the tunnel! I hope you all had a great Valentines and St Patrick's Day! Had a wonderful dinner out for Sweetheart Day, but stayed home for the "Green" day!

I have also been trying to plan my time more efficiently as well, that is, so I can spend more quality time with my hubby instead of working here on the computer non-stop for 18 hours a day! Sooooo, after I reply to all my emails, package up my orders, make dinner, clean etc, I am now sitting down late at night with Mac and watching movies till bedtime(which is getting to be like 5am)!!
Of course being a creative person and not liking to sit still for very long, I've been making jewelry while I watch the movies. Needless to say, I have tons of jewelry now to list! I just have to make the time to get it all put up online.

I will be posting a few of them so you can see first hand what I'm doing!
It's getting late (already watched the movie for the night) so I'm going to bid you adieu!

See you soon
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-92003281400903410222010-02-15T22:08:00.000-08:002010-02-16T02:54:27.182-08:00Monday!Hi there! Hope everyone had a good evening! I'm still battling this sore throat that I've had for over a week...rrrrrrr!! So I've been laying kind of low, not working as much as usual, but still working LOL!

I did get out for the first time in a couple of weeks, went out for Valentines Day! Yup we went to a little cafe with a table right by the window, watching the river go by! It was very nice.

And the food was excellent! Mac had a nice sirloin (which looked and tasted like a filet), and I had chicken marsala, it was nummy. We also had their salad bar, loved the crab and italian salads.
And then because it was Valentines Day, I decided to get a dessert. I NEVER do that! Usually because I'm always too full, but most importantly because I can usually make them better myself. Well not this time!!!

First, Mac thought I was crazy for ordering dessert, so I offered to split one with him. That is until he found out what it was, Bailey's Cheesecake!! Well he just HAD to try it, so he said "Hell no" I'm getting my own piece.
And it was fabulous!

Anyway, we had a great time. Can't write for long , it's already 3am, gotta get to bed. Catch ya later,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-84643014898875586692010-02-09T13:29:00.000-08:002010-02-09T13:40:17.022-08:00TuesdayHey kids! Well it's already Tuesday and I feel like the week has slipped me by! LOL! There is JUST never enough time in the day (or night as it were)! My fibro is acting up again, (of course it's raining and miserable). Which that nasty humidity in the air always gets it going. So I just have to walk around with ice packs on all day LOL! I look like an alien, but at least it helps.

So besides packing up orders and making new stuff, I'm also STILL trying to get my studio done. I completely disassembled the closet, took off the doors etc, and went out and bought pegboard and hooks, shelf boards and lumber. I now have a built in desk and storage area JUST FOR MY CHRISTMAS STUFF! It has been taking over my studio. And since Xmas is the biggest season for us retailers, I thought it deserved it's own area. Now I don't have my Xmas stuff spread all over the studio. I can work on it all year long and know RIGHT where everything is! Just love it I tell ya!
I'm going to take some pics for you. Unfortunately, I accidentally erased my "before" picture, so you'll just have to see the "halfway" and the "finished" pics!

I decided that because Xmas trees are my "claim to fame" that I really need to be able to work on them all year round. So my idea for themed trees that I mentioned last year has become a reality. I did my first "Valentine" tree and it turned out cute! I have since sold it. Only did one, just to see. I will now be working on some seasonal, and special occasion trees. I will be sure to keep you posted on them!

Well it's back to work now,
Take care,
Until next time,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-46298301543420904882010-02-08T02:51:00.000-08:002010-02-08T03:04:24.214-08:00Monday Morning 2-8-10Hi everyone! Well it's been quite a long time since I've been back here, and I do apologize! I really hope to be able to start posting regularly again.
I was super busy with lots of orders for the holiday season, baking cookies, and everything else that Christmas entails.

Unfortunately, during this time, on New Years Eve my Mom passed away. She was diagnosed with leukemia 2 years ago and they had given her 12-15 months, but she was doing extremely well and her treatments were working.
She and her husband Bill were getting ready to go on their annual trip to Acapulco. She had all the family (there in Minnesota) over for Christmas day and she had felt great. The following day she started getting a fever and Bill had to rush her to the ER. She had developed pneumonia. Due to the chemo and leukemia, she didn't have much of an immune system left to fight it. A few days later Bill called and told me I better fly back there, that it didn't look good. I flew out the very next morning, but sadly, she passed before I got there.

I stayed for a week until the preparations and service were over, then came home. My daughter Sara and her husband Rob had given me a trip to Vegas for Xmas and my reservations were 4 days later after coming home from Minn! So I've been quite busy. It was nice to get away, especially after having a death in the family.
My mom's husband Bill also decided to go ahead with the plans and take the scheduled trip to Acapulco. He will be there for 2 months. I really hope that he's doing okay, and he's managing to cope.

So this has been the last couple of months for me. On a lighter note, now I'm working really hard to get my stores back in order and fill them up. I've come up with some new ideas that I will love to share with all of you.

Have a great week and I will be back soon!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-82777684817438133912009-12-19T20:50:00.000-08:002009-12-19T20:56:47.514-08:00Saturday Night!Well kids, I'm just doing a quick check in before I get back to work! It's so nice having Mac at home for a change, we've been running around together, lunch, dinner, shopping. For the last 9 months he's been working 7 nights(graveyard)a week so we couldn't do much during the day or evening for he had to go to bed in order to get up at night!

I feel like we're on vacation LOL! Needless to say, I managed to get one order done and dropped at UPS and then took the rest of the night off! Haven't done that in a very long time, and it felt really good!

So enough slacking for me, I've got to get going and finish packing up the rest of my orders, and then make some jewelry(that is if I can stay awake that long)I mean after all, running around having a good time really wears you out!! LOL!!

I'll keep you posted on Cutethings6 new arrivals, I've got some unique items in the works!
Talk to you soon,
Have a great Sunday all,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-59826634515739770982009-12-18T09:37:00.000-08:002009-12-18T10:07:38.801-08:00Hellllllllllllllppppppppppp!!!Well actually I could have used some help, doing better now though. I'll just bet that you all thought I'd dropped off the face of the earth right? Well close, but no cigar!! LOL!
Talk about busy, I haven't even had time to bake my Christmas cookies and bread! I don't think I'm going to be able to either. Well maybe just for our neighbors and us, but not the hundreds of them I normally make and ship back to family in Minnesota. Well there's always Easter! I could do bunnies, chicks and eggs! What do you think? LOL!

So I've been swamped with trying to create stuff and package up and ship the orders as well. Did lots of trees this year, and also made a couple of swags this time. They all turned out pretty good! I will share some pics when I'm done.
I did take a little break so that I could decorate MY OWN tree though. Well because I was so pressed for time, I only put up my small 6 ft tree this year. Not my super huge 9 ft monster that takes me a week just to put together!

So what is everyone doing for Xmas? What are you cooking and or baking? I'm going to have a turkey(since I didn't get one for Thanksgiving). Can't wait for that stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy........yummmmmmmm!

Well the latest news is this: Mac quit the paper, so he's not delivering to those stores anymore, thank god. He's just working at the convenience store right now, so no more 2 jobs!
Unfortunately last Saturday night he was on his route when some guy tried to beat him up and steal our truck!!! Mac had to hit him back and take off before the guy could steal it.
Then when Mac got to the next store, he slipped on the ice and fell smack on his spine!! OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! So needless to say he can barely move, I have to dress him, and he can't go back to the newspaper (those stacks of papers are way too heavy).

I just hope he's going to be okay after awhile. Between his back and my neck and shoulders(fibromyalgia) we need to be put away somewhere!! LOL!

I promise now to keep up with my writing. I'm going to keep you updated with my Xmas stuff. You can never have too much Christmas!

Take care everyone, I'll talk to you in the next couple of days!

Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-83007369674167603072009-11-30T20:16:00.000-08:002009-11-30T20:56:06.860-08:00Cyber Monday!Hi folks! I hope you all had a great weekend! Did you get your Xmas shopping all done? Go to all the big sales on Black Friday?
Well I haven't been anywhere. Been too busy here at home.

Last few days have not been good with my fibromyalgia, so I haven't posted much. But I'll skip that and go on to a happier topic!
I did get some more jewelry done. Did a couple of xmas rings, some fashion rings, earrings and a necklace and bracelet.
The weekend was fairly busy with sales for me, so I was excited about that. Sold items in all 3 stores. I'm still packaging up things to go out.

I didn't have time to get my Christmas tree up by Thanksgiving(which has become a tradition for me). I have an enormous 9 foot tree that takes forever to put up. It has like 120 branches and they all have to be inserted separately! Unfortunately it's not like the newer ones that are only in a couple of pieces with the branches being hinged. So I have an additional smaller tree (6 foot) that IS made in the newer design, so I decided I'm going to put that one up this year since it's so much less time consuming.
I wanted to spruce it up a bit, so I took it outside and spray painted it silver! Not sold silver, but enough to make it glisten and appear like there is tinsel on it. My ornaments are predominantly white, clear and silver so it should look great with those and my clear lights.

What about you? Have you decorated yet for the holidays? If you have, I would love to see your decorations. Please post a pic for me on here, I would love to share every one's creativity!

Well it's time for me to replenish my ice pack with a new one, so it's time to go and lay down for a bit.

Have a great night
Until the next time,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-69131834447283993592009-11-26T13:10:00.000-08:002009-11-26T13:15:48.055-08:00HAPPY THANKSGIVING!I hope you are all having a great holiday so far! I'm just checking my emails and such and then it's on to the cooking. I finished my cut out cookies, I'm posting a picture. Turkeys, chickens, squirrels, leaves, and some small circle ones.(they look like fried eggs)!

It's just going to be Mac and I here, no family here unfortunately. But I think about them all the time, and I will be calling them to wish them a nice holiday.
Please drive safely (don't drink too much) or at least don't drive when you do!

Back to my cooking,
Talk to you soon,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-74582433315840707962009-11-25T14:31:00.000-08:002009-11-25T14:53:42.816-08:00Thanksgiving Is Almost Here!Well how is everyone today? Are you all getting ready for tomorrow, baking, cleaning, cooking and all that fun stuff! I spent the morning finishing up a Christmas tree that I listed on Ebay, very cute with little snowmen that light up! I will attach a pic to the page when I am done here.

I tried to do some work in the garage this morning since I was up so early, but even with a coat and gloves, I was FREEZING! So I only stayed out there a short time, came in and waited until it warmed up before going out again. Now it's 60 degrees out there so I guess I could handle that(if I have to LOL)!

I just mixed up the dough for my Thanksgiving cookies. Now it has to chill for like 3hours. My usual sugar cookie cut outs, only this time they'll be turkeys, chickens, fall leaves and squirrels(thanks to my very cool Vintage cookie cutters).
This will be the first time I've done these at Thanksgiving. Mac and the neighbors will be happy!!

This will also be the first time in a long time that I'm not having turkey tomorrow. But I definitely want my stuffing and gravy, so I'm making stuffed pork chops, gravy, yams and asparagus. Sounds good doesn't it? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Then of course we'll have cookies for dessert. Wanted to make a pumpkin pie, but I don't think I'll have time to go get any pumpkin.

Before I sign off today I also want to let you know a couple of things. Firstly:
I'm having a Thanksgiving Day Weekend Sale in my Christmas Shoppe! 15% off your ENTIRE purchase(details in my shop announcement) Here's the link:

http://www.cutethings6xmas.etsy.com

Please come and check it out. If you like looking at Xmas items, I have also listed some in my Ebay store at:

http://www.cutethings6.com

Okay for my second announcement:
HAVE YOU SEEN MY NEW BANNER??? In my Etsy shop? My good friend Neso from Belgium, commissioned a gal from France to do it for me. It is extremely AWESOME! I just love it! Neso was so kind and patient trying to do all the translating until the masterpiece was finished.

This artist goes by the name "Mysthril" and her blog is here:

http://fashiongirlies.canalblog.com/

Now remember that she is in France, so her blog WILL be in French. But it's very easy to use the translating tools on our computers. I must say it does a pretty good job. If you are interested in speaking with her about commissioning some artwork, and are having trouble navigating the French blog, just let me know and I will try to get you someone to interpret for you. Neso has even agreed to do that if need be.

So "Mysthril" I just want to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! It's wonderful and exactly what I wanted.

Well kids, it's time to get back to work.
I will talk with you tomorrow!
Until then,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-63988928426687233762009-11-22T20:03:00.000-08:002009-11-22T21:37:51.492-08:00Sunday Night-End of A Long Week! How is everyone doing tonight? Did you guys have a nice relaxing weekend? It wasn't too bad here, and even though we had "SNOW" it warmed up some and the snow is almost gone! Wouldn't it be nice if it never came back? Man that would be great!
Used to live in the frozen tundra of Minnesota, and now I'm so used to the nice dry hot summers that when we do get winter here, I can hardly deal with it.

So I'm just coming out of my pain cluster with the fibromyalgia. Lasted several days this time. I knew something was coming with the weather, but I didn't know it was going to be snow AND rain!!

Well I'm feeling much better now, and was actually able to get some things listed. I got 3 things on Ebay and 1 on Etsy. I will post some things tomorrow for you to see.
I'm rather tired so I think I'm going to turn in early.
Take care my friends and have a great night!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-64150986635492037072009-11-18T21:32:00.000-08:002009-11-18T21:43:07.055-08:00WednesdayWell I'm just checking in for a minute, having quite a bit of pain in my neck and shoulders, the fibromyalgia. Usually gets bad when there's a storm coming, rain, snow etc. my body just can't handle the humidity!
Well I'll be better soon and I'll be back with more "goodies" that I've created!

Have a great night all, and I'll see you when things get better.

Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-89383334891868510962009-11-17T23:39:00.000-08:002009-11-17T23:49:35.249-08:00Busy Tuesday!Hey kids how is everyone tonight? I think I mentioned previously that Mac has started a 2nd job, and I'm helping out by doing all his paperwork. Well what that means is that I won't be online as much as I was before.
So I'm not ignoring my blog, just don't have the time to post each and every day. But I promise to do so at least a couple times a week!

I did get a couple of rings listed on Etsy today, and worked on a Christmas arrangement. But other than that, I haven't been online much at all.

Mac is still pigging out on oatmeal raisin cookies!(He's such a little kid that way). Pretty soon it will be time to start the Holiday baking. Lots of work, but well worth it in the end. The house smells good, they taste good, and it's my small way of telling people how much I appreciate them as family, friends and neighbors. I just love hearing how they all fight over my baked goods! It really makes it all worthwhile to know everyone enjoys them.

I still never received any suggestions from you about any themed trees? But I did make a couple myself. I have the picture on this page of the gingerbread and candy tree! I will be making some others real soon.

Well it's almost midnight, so I better get some more work done.
Have a great morning everyone!
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6291721568044316790.post-52522216582137828922009-11-15T22:32:00.000-08:002009-11-15T22:45:15.991-08:00No Rest On Sunday!Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty busy with lots of things around the house. Haven't been online much, at least not 12-15 hrs a day as I usually do! LOL!
I completed 2 Xmas trees, a couple of arrangements and some jewelry. The rest was spent cleaning, cooking and all the fun stuff that it takes to keep a household!

Mac started his second job yesterday, and finished his training today. Tomorrow he opens the store at 8am. So he will be working for the paper on graveyard, 7 nights a week, then working for this store from 8-4 6 days a week! He's going to be tired so I'm going to have to pitch in and start doing his paperwork for the newspaper. So you may not see me as much on here for a while. At least not at until I can learn to juggle it all! LOL!

I will post some pics of my new Holiday Designs for you to look at. I've also got to find room for making some Thanksgiving cookies and holiday bread. Then when Christmas comes, I have a ton of baking to do. I'm one of those that makes dozens and dozens of cookies, bars, breads and pies. I love making them, but it's a lot of work. Definitely worth it though. I make packages up for the neighbors, and then send some back to my family in Minnesota.

I'm getting hungry for cookies now that I've been talking about it!

I will check back with you tomorrow,
Until then,
Lauriecutethings6http://www.blogger.com/profile/14388992861723362161noreply@blogger.com0
